Rider: Ángel Nieto

12+1 50cc and 125cc World Champion

Ángel Nieto – one of the most prolific grand prix protagonists of all time. A specialist on smaller machines, the Zamora-born rider is renowned for having won ‘12+1’ world championships across 50cc and 125cc classes – preferring not to use the superstitious number 13.

His sensational tally of 90 grand prix victories is bested only by Valentino Rossi and Giacomo Agostini, but Nieto is now looking to add more trophies to his collection as he goes head to head in the ‘Race of Legends’ against fellow former champions and winners from the golden age of motorcycle racing.

With a career spanning over 20 years, Nieto has an expansive fan following, especially in Spain, and the chance to see him riding the rare and special bikes from his racing heyday is an unmissable opportunity for any true grand prix fan.
